Things Fortnite Did to Stop Players From Switching to Apex

Fortnite holds the throne for most played Battle Royale and well we all know the saying every empire must fall. Although it doesn't have to happen so soon it seems like it's coming closer and closer every second but still farther and farther at the same time. So here are 5 things that Fortnite did to keep its throne for the most played Battle Royale.

First to notice is the new respawn mechanic, Epic made an announcement once and for all that this was going to happen and in case you didn't see it it's on trending as of this week. The respawn mechanics is almost like the one in Apex Legends, once your teammate dies they drop a banner. You or one of your teammates may pick it up after their death and take it to a respawn van and boom wait a few seconds and they are in the game again.

Another thing I can't pass up is the Fortnite twitch prime pack that dropped. I know that they have done it before Apex Legends was even out to the public, but they have done this a third time with the latest being in 2019. You can't get mad at this fact because Apex did this also and it seems like they did this to rip off Fortnite players. If it was up to me this is a very elaborate cat and mouse game but to steal players from each other.

Fortnite also added its very own ping system. Not too off the lines of Apex's but it's included and has been dummied-down to fit with Fortnite while not seeming like they're piggybacking Apex Legends. Now it is a little different than Apex's because you don't get to say whether or not your watching or that someone has been there and last but not least there were no voice actors.

An last but not least Fortnite even their version of balloon ziplines. Fortnite has added these recently and they aren't what you would really expect to be on this list. In fact, they are cannons that can be used to ride on like a kart and shoot cannonballs at opponents. You can also use them to blast yourself a great distance leaving behind the cannon.

They are adding trajectory grenades! These will allow you to throw better accurate grenades to benefit you in the battle against your opponent. Now if this doesn't piggyback Apex then I don't know what does. Fortnite could use some authenticity and get come up with some other gimmick that would knock Apex out of their competition.

Epic games know it's the small details that will keep players in their games, not the big ones or else they will seem like they will copycat Apex. Essentially this is ruining Battle royale gems because it won't allow for better authenticity and uniqueness between the two or any other new rivals that appear in the future.
